The Friesian is a horse breed originating from Friesland, Netherlands. They're known to be graceful and nimble for their size. They were mainly bred as a war horse so they could carry knight in heavy armor during the Early Middle Ages and High Middle Ages.
In the Late Middle Ages, the heavier daught type horses were needed, nearly causing the Friesian to become nearly extinct more than once.
They're now mainly used as driving and dressage nowadays due to their color and striking appearance and have been used in movies and television, mainly historic and fantasy genres.
Friesians are available in two colors: black, and very rarely, chestnut. Their genes are limited to only the expression of the extension gene:
